Le Petit Pali

8th Avenue · Carmel-by-the-Sea

We’re all staying together at Le Petit Pali, a storybook inn of river-rock walls, brick courtyards and window boxes. It’s a short walk to the beach, Ocean Avenue and the restaurants in the village.

We’ll share booking details and any group rate here as soon as they’re confirmed.

Flying in

Monterey is the easiest option. The larger Bay Area airports usually have more flights and cheaper fares.

  • Monterey (MRY)~15 min
  • San José (SJC)~1.5 hrs
  • San Francisco (SFO)~2.5 hrs

Getting around

Carmel is very walkable, and the hotel, shops and Grasing’s are all close together. If you fly into SJC or SFO, rent a car. The drive down Highway 1 is beautiful.

The ceremony is about 45 minutes down the coast in Big Sur, so you’ll want a car or a seat in someone else’s. We’ll help coordinate rides.

Heads up: Carmel homes famously have no street addresses, so use business names in your maps app.

Free Time

Explore Carmel

A few of our favorite ways to spend Monday morning, or an extra day if you can stay.

Hike
Point Lobos State Reserve

Some of the most beautiful coastline anywhere. Easy trails, sea lions and hidden coves. Go early, because parking fills up fast.

Stroll
Ocean Avenue & the Village

Storybook cottages, art galleries, tucked-away courtyards and plenty of coffee shops.

Beach
Carmel Beach

White sand at the foot of Ocean Ave. It’s dog-friendly and perfect for a morning walk.

Drive
17-Mile Drive

Pebble Beach, the Lone Cypress and ocean views that don’t quit. Enter through the Carmel Gate.

Redwoods
Big Sur

Want more time among the giants? Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park has easy trails through old-growth redwoods, and the Bixby Bridge is on the way.

Day Trip
Monterey Bay Aquarium

Twenty minutes up the road on Cannery Row. The kelp forest and sea otters are worth it.

Questions

What should I wear?

Garden formal with a woodland feel: think linen, light suits and flowy dresses in earthy and coastal tones. The ceremony is on a soft forest floor, so skip stilettos and bring block heels, wedges or flats. Sunday’s dinner is casual.

What’s the weather like in May?

Carmel in early May is usually sunny and mild, around the mid-60s during the day and low 50s at night. It’s cooler in the shade of the redwoods and on the rooftop after sunset, so bring a layer or wrap.

Can I bring a plus-one or kids?

Please RSVP for the guests named on your invitation. If you have questions about your party, just reach out to us directly.

Is there a registry?

Having you travel to celebrate with us is the greatest gift. If you’d like to give something anyway, we’ll post registry details here soon.

How do we get to the ceremony and back?

The grove is about 45 minutes south of Carmel on Highway 1, and dinner at Grasing’s is back in town. We’ll share shuttle, carpool and parking plans closer to the date. Cell service is spotty in Big Sur, so download directions before you leave.

Who do I contact with questions?

Text or call us anytime, or leave a note in the RSVP form and we’ll get back to you.
